Strong GCSE Results 2024
Students at William Farr Church of England Comprehensive celebrated another strong year of GCSE results with a quarter of all grades awarded at grade 7 and above.
Three-quarters of students (74%) achieved at least 5 grades 9 to 4 including English and Maths.
In English and Maths, 77% of students achieved a grade 4 or above in both subjects.
Headteacher Jonathan Knowler said: “I am very proud of the students. They have worked extremely hard and shown remarkable commitment and resilience over the last two years. We should not forget that these students had disruption to their education in Year 7 and 8 through Covid. Results have now returned to our 2019 pre- Covid levels and we are looking forward to another high Progress 8 score for the school.
“It was great to see them celebrating their success and progressing to their next steps. The results are testament to the dedication of staff to ensure our students realise their potential.
“It demonstrates how the school community has come together to provide opportunities for all its members to engage with 'life in all its fullness' (John 10:10).”
