KS4 Options
Next September, our Year 9 students begin what will be one of the most critical parts of their education. The options process will enable students, with the help and support of their parents and tutors, to choose a combination of subjects suited to their individual interests and aspirations.
Education is a partnership and we all have a responsibility to ensure that children have as much opportunity as possible to develop worthwhile careers, along with the knowledge and understanding required to enable them to be active citizens when the time comes to leave William Farr. Students and parents should be in no doubt that at William Farr, entry on to a course is a commitment to two years of hard work, effort, self-discipline and high expectations.
To support this process, students will be provided with a programme of advice and care and guidance to help them make the right option decisions. It is essential that students discuss any issues with their parents, subject teachers, careers staff and form tutors.
Please go through the PowerPoint below, ‘Y9 Options Information for Parents’, to familiarise yourself with the Options process. All of the information provided under the student section of the website on KS4 Options and KS4 Subjects should answer the most frequently asked questions about the options.
Should you require further advice or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
Thank you for your support and continued partnership.
