Thank you for considering a Post-16 pathway at William Farr Sixth Form. All of the information you need in order to apply can be found under this section of the website.
Timeline for the Sixth Form Application Process 2024/25

Sixth Form Induction Programme (This is a three-day programme, which includes information about Sixth Form life, taster A Level sessions, the setting of preparatory work and an introduction to Higher Education.) |

GCSE Results (Staff will be available on this day to provide further information and advice prior to the finalising of students’ Sixth Form course choices.) |

Application Forms
Online Application Forms will be made available from Friday 24 January 2025.
Course Choices
Students in the Sixth Form will study a suite of 3 A Level subjects, or a combination of A Level subjects and AAQ subjects. All students study the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).
Particularly able students may wish to study four subjects. Students will be advised on a case-by-case basis as to their suitability for this pathway.
We also advise that students consider any potential Post-18 ambitions when making their subject choices. Students wishing to apply for certain courses, e.g. Medicine, Veterinary Science, Law and for prestigious universities, e.g. Russell Group, should check their subject choices using the links below:

We will do the best we can to try and ensure we satisfy as many students as possible, but we cannot guarantee that we can make all subject combinations work. In addition, courses that do not attract sufficient students may not run.
Following submission of application forms, existing William Farr students will be invited to discuss their application and subject choice with a senior member of staff. Applicants from other schools will be invited to attend an open morning where they also have the opportunity to find out more about the school and discuss their application.
